GENERAL ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must possess the following:

  1. National Diploma in the relevant discipline with a minimum of Lower Credit from Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic or any recognised
  2. Evidence of one-year relevant post National Diploma (ND) Students’ Industrial Works Experience Scheme(SIWES).
  • Applicants must satisfy all entry requirements for admission into National Diploma Programmes in the relevant department of 

Applicants from other Polytechnics should ensure that their academic transcripts are forwarded by their Institutions early enough to the Registrar, Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic.

3. DIPLOMA AND NATIONAL DIPLOMA (ND) PROGRAMMES

  • SCHOOL OF FINANCIAL STUDIES

(A) Accountancy

  1. Banking and Finance

GENERAL ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

Applicants must possess five (5) Credit passes in GCE ‘O’ Level or WAEC or NECO or NTC or NABTEB or its equivalent at not more than two sittings, including English Language and Mathematics and three (3) other subjects relevant to the programme from the following: Economics/commerce, Business Studies, Principles of Accounting, Government/History, Biology, Agricultural Science, Typewriting/Shorthand, Geography, Physics, Chemistry, Office Practice, Literature in English.

(B) SCHOOL OF BUSINESS AND ADMINISTRATIVE STUDIES:

Duration: Full Time: Two (2) years

  1. Business Administration and Management
  2. Office Technology and Management (Secretarial Administration)
  3. Marketing
  4. Public Administration

GENERAL ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must possess five (5) Credit passes in GCE ‘O’ Level or WAEC or NECO or NTC or NABTEB or its equivalent at not more than two sittings including English Language, Mathematics and three (3) other subjects relevant to the programme from Economics/Commerce, Business Studies, Principles of Accounts, Statistics, Geography, Government, Biology/Agricultural Science, and History/Government etc.

(C) SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY

Duration: Full Time: Two (2) years

  1. Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology
  2. Computer Engineering Technology

GENERAL ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must possess five (5) Credit passes in GCE ‘O’ Level or WAEC or NECO or NTC or NABTEB or its equivalent at not more than two sittings including English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and any other subjects relevant to the programme.

(D). SCHOOL OF ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES:

Duration: Full Time: Two (2) years

  1. Architectural Technology
  2. Urban and Regional Planning
  3. Building Technology
  4. Surveying and Geo-Informatics
  5. Transportation Planning and Logistics

GENERAL ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must possess five (5) Credit passes in GCE ‘O’ Level or SSCE or WAEC or NECO or NTC or NABTEB or its equivalent at not more than two sittings, including English Language and Mathematics and three (3) other subjects in Arts or Science relevant to the programme.

Applicants must obtain at least one (1) credit pass from any of the following: Further Mathematics, Biology/Agricultural Science, Physics, Chemistry, Technical Drawing,

Building Construction, Woodwork, Concreting, Carpentry, Plumbing and Pipe Fitting,

Geography, Basic Electronics/ Basic Electricity or Economics.

(E). SCHOOL OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY

Duration: Full Time: Two (2) years

  1. Agricultural Technology (General Agriculture)
  2. Statistics
  3. Computer Science
  4. Science Laboratory Technology(SLT)

GENERAL ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must possess five (5) Credit passes in GCE ‘O’ Level or SSCE or WAEC or NECO or NTC or NABTEB or its equivalent at not more than two sittings, including English Language and Mathematics and three (3) other Subjects relevant to the programme. Applicants must possess at least a credit pass in any one (1) of the following: Physics, Chemistry, Further Mathematics, Economics/Geography, Biology, Agricultural Science, Technical Drawing, Woodwork or Basic Electronics/ Basic Electricity.

(F). SCHOOL OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY

Duration: Full Time: Two (2) years

  1. Mass Communication
  2. Library and Information Science

GENERAL ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must possess five (5) Credit passes in GCE ‘O’ Level or SSCE or WAEC or NECO or NTC or NABTEB or its equivalent at not more than two sittings, including English Language, Literature in English and Mathematics and two (2) other subjects relevant to the programme.

(G). INSTITUTE OF LEGAL AND GLOBAL STUDIES

Duration: Full Time: Two (2) years (Diploma)

  1. Law

GENERAL ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must possess five (5) Credit passes in GCE ‘O’ Level or SSCE or WAEC or NECO or NTC or NABTEB or its equivalent at not more than two sittings including English Language and Mathematics and three (3) other subjects relevant to the programme one of which must be Literature in English.

INSTITUTE OF CONTINUING EDUCATION (ICE) PART-TIME (WEEKDAYS AND WEEKEND) HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES.

  1. HND Accountancy
  2. HND Computer Science
  3. HND Banking and Finance, HND Public Administration

Duration: Five (5) Semesters (21/2years)

Applicants must satisfy all requirements for admission into the National Diploma Programme in the relevant programme/Department of choice.

Applicants from other institutions should ensure that their academic transcripts are forwarded by their various institutions early enough to the Registrar, Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic, Rumuola, Port Harcourt.

4. PART TIME DIPLOMA AND NATIONAL DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES Duration 2 ½ Years

  3. Diploma in Criminology and Criminal Justice

 Duration: Five (5) Semesters (2½years)

GENERAL ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must possess five (5) Credit passes in GCE ‘O’ Level or SSCE or WAEC or NECO or NTC or NABTEB or its equivalent at not more than two sittings including English Language and Mathematics and three (3) other Subjects relevant to the programme of choice.

5. PROFESSIONAL DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES

  1. Professional Diploma in Safety and Security Management
  2. Professional Diploma in Occupational Health and Environmental Risk Management

Duration: Six (6) Months.

GENERAL ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must possess GCE ‘O’ Level or SSCE or WAEC or NECO or NTC or NABTEB or its equivalent with three (3) credit passes at not more than two (2) sittings, including English Language and Mathematics and any Arts or Science subject relevant to programme of choice

Note: Admission into the National Diploma Programmes is open to candidates who sat and passed the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination for 2022/2023 session, scored 120 points and above and satisfies the minimum UTME cut off point for specific programmes.

Applicants may be required to undertake a screening exercise. Applicants will be notified of the date and venue of the screening exercise where applicable.

Candidates who did not choose Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic Rumuola, Port Harcourt may also apply as there are very limited opportunities for admissions into the National Diploma and Higher National Diploma Programmes for 2022/2023 Academic year. Such candidates are required to effect change of choice of Institution through Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) by making the Polytechnic/Institution their first choice.
